Hey fellow tour loving singers + bands, let’s collaborate.
GET A ROOM?
Let’s share venue and lodging information about our favorite places, stops, venues, accommodations, camp grounds, etc… Help ya GET A ROOM to gig here, and GET A ROOM to crash there - and vice versa.
I recently traveled to Dallas from Minneapolis and Facebook found me an amazing guitarist to fill in a week before playing an outdoor festival as “David K’s Rockabilly Roadshow.” We also luckily were invited to park our sprinter camper van at a high school pal’s ranch. Perfect trip, had a blast, show went great, saved money, so everybody won. Got me to thinkin’ - I LOVE to perform everywhere and anywhere and love the adventure and the people, as much as the music. Why not build a collective of new friends collaborating to expand venues to play, places to stay, cool stuff to see and do, and cool new people to meet?
I want us, the Entertainment community to share stuff something like this…
I perform solo piano, guitar, vocal and as well, duo, trio - classic rock, pop, soul, and 4-6 pieces doing tribute shows. Costumed up or not as Roy Orbison, Elton, Buddy Holly, and we do a tribute to rockabilly, “David K’s Rockabilly Roadshow” a tribute to the early greatest; Roy, Elvis, Cash, Chuck, Jerry Lee, Little Richard etc.
I’ve played piano bars, pubs, wineries, fine dining establishments solo etc., and we can share Opera houses, Community Theaters, Performing Arts Centers that we do our tribute shows at, in Minnesota and Iowa, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin mostly and some random venues in TN, IL, WY, CO…
I have email lists of Minnesota wineries, breweries, distilleries and cideries and lists of venues in the northland

My wish lists?
We play Oct. 2,3,4 in Tucson area and need shows anywhere in between MN and AZ late September or early/mid October in AZ or on the way home mid October.
Winter of course can be beautiful but it can also SUCK! Lol. I seek anything solo to band shows in January, February, March in the south. Florida to California!
Wanna come up to Minnesota and gig? Shop at Mall of America? Tour Paisley Park? Explore Minneapolis gorgeous lakes and parks, rivers and streams, 10,000 lakes to fish?
I thought I’d throw this out there and see if similar inquiring minds wanna brainstorm!
GET A ROOM
Why Tribute Shows area an almost MUST
Creating yours, within your band’s wheelhouse, costumed or not, can generate more money.
VAN LIFE Touring and Saving Lodging Money
If you just logically look at the costs of taking a 4 piece band on the road, of course you can split costs in 1/2 if you double up and share hotel rooms. You could also sleep 4 people in one room, but not everyone wants that…
My Florida Solo with Backtracks 2 Month Winter Adventure
A couple years ago I left the harsh Minnesota winter and did two months performing solo with backing tracks in Florida. I did Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and Elton John 2 or 3 hour shows in bars, wineries, a brewery in Boca Raton, an old opera house in Arcadia, FL and one at an auto museum in Sarasota. I camped…
Gigs at Wineries, Orchards, Breweries, Distilleries, Cideries
The good thing is, you get to perform for a wider variety of age groups, families etc. which can be charming - When doing the solo background to enjoying the day, and people drinking. But the bad thing is, sometimes not all people pay attention and kids can be screaming and running around. Oh well, goes with that territory. Doing the band show thing. If it’s a ticketed show…
