I’m a big fan of Kacey Chambers, an Australian singer songwriter who wrote huge hit called, NOT PRETTY ENOUGH and that debut album was amazing. She may have been blown away by fame and the critical acclaim, so she took a break and never really reached her rocket momentum again, though she still tours the world and still writes great songs. I noticed she’d take selfies with their crowds, and I thought it was the cutest cool thing… so we started ding it. It’s a positive way to end the night, maybe motivating the crowd to check your site of social media to look for themselves in the photo or forward it to friends when they talk about the show. I have to remind the band scurry quick before too many people bail to beat the traffic, lol. I’ve kept a fun collection from around the country, some 100 seat to less theaters, some 600 - 800 seats. I highly recommend the crowd self, good fun for the crowd and the band, good PR and good memories of venues and which bandmates made the show, if your roster varies. The bottom photo, we added a Dallas violinist filling in as our 4th, our bass player got cropped out, lol. The violinist didn't/t speak English, and my average Spanish online got us through sharing music charts until we arrived and met the day before 3 sold out shows.

One of the 3 nights 28 people from Roy Orbison’s home town of Wink came to see our show. They asked if I’d come chat with them after the show. I was honored that they thought I, that we did a great job. 2 of the 28 actually were classmates of Roy, one sang in choir with him and almost joined his band, BUT his mother said, “No son of mine is gonna play in no honky tonk with that Roy Orbison!” lol. They told me that Wink’s choir director said Roy’d never make it as a singer because he doesn't;t open his mouth wide enough. They were all so proud to be friends of the late Roy. One man, now our good friend, Jerry Wilson, told us that Roy used to as a teen wander down to Jerry’s dad’s filling station to play a song for a Coca-Cola as compensation. Jerry tried hard to get us to perform for the 100th anniversary of Wink this last year in 2026, but to no avail. I did however connect with The Roy Orbison Museum, get a tour, try on a pair of Roy’s sunglasses… my hands were shaking… and become the webmaster for their site. www.theroyorbisonmuseum.com It’s not as flashy as this one, but it needed an online presence and I was glad to help.
